Media Center
The mission of the Allendale Elementary School Library program is to ensure that all members of the school community have equal access to print and non-print materials, develop a lifelong love of reading, and become effective users of information and technology.
The Library/Media Center is staffed by a full time library media specialist and a library assistant. The Media Center is centrally located within the school and houses the print and non-print collection that supplements and enriches the academic curriculum. Twelve student computer terminals provide access to the Internet, online encyclopedias, Follett OPAC, etc. The Media Center continually promotes the enjoyment of literature and the use of informational skills through various programs and activities. Our goal is to create a space with an inviting atmosphere that inspires learning, creativity and a lifelong love of reading. We are fortunate to have a collection of over 10,000 books and look forward to continuing to watch that number grow. Please feel free to come in for a tour when you visit the school. We welcome all members of our school community!
We are blessed and grateful to have a wonderful group of parents willing to volunteer in the library. It is a huge task to keep our books shelved and orderly. If you would like to become part of our dedicated group of volunteers, please give the main office a call.
